Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Legacy, with the Rev. Dr. Irene Monroe

The featured speaker for this year’s commemoration of the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the Rev. Dr. Irene Monroe, syndicated columnist and scholar-activist, who will lead a reflection on the dreams that Allegheny has for its community, the efforts made to make them reality and, as a segue into Faith Week, the connection between the community’s faith and function. All are invited — both at Allegheny and in the greater Meadville community — to hear Dr. Monroe speak and to stay after the service for a reception and light refreshments in the Oratory.

The presentation by Dr. Monroe is the culmination of a weeklong series of events at Allegheny that bring the College community together to honor Dr. King’s ideals and legacy.
